I have been ASE master certified for over 28 years with more than 37 years experience in every aspect of the automotive field, including, teaching/instructing, management, insurance claims inspecting, consisting of composing detailed verbal, written, and photo mechanical reports. I have experience as a trained mentor guiding new teachers, students and mechanic trainees at various auto dealerships. I have met the requirements to acquire a stand-alone ASE/NATEF certification for the automotive technology program at various automotive trainig centers, and developed partnerships with AYES (Automotive Youth Educational Systems). I have attained several awards for exceeding the projected goals on state generated end of course VOCATS testing throughout my teaching career. I have had the honor of being voted teacher-of-the-year in both the Union County Career Center in 2003 and for the state of North Carolina in 2002/2003 through the North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association.
My goals are to share my knowledge, expertise, and experience with the next generation of Automotive Technicians through the teaching career that I have come to find as challenging, yet rewarding, as the automotive industry and educational systems evolve. I have taught students at the Union County Career Center, in Monroe from 1997 to 2004, Watauga High School, Caldwell Community College, in Boone for two years, and in 2006, I taught at Albemarle High School, in Albemarle until the 2009-2010 school year. I am now the Automotive Technology instructor at East Gaston High School, in Mount Holly, and I have been working towards the achievement of my goal ever since. My mission is an on-going one, and one I will be striving to advance for the remainder of my career.
